When you become a member of Maryland Farm Bureau, you join a community of people dedicated to a shared mission to strengthen and grow Maryland agriculture.

  • Maryland Farm Bureau plays a pivotal role in securing significant legal victories. A Maryland Farm Bureau-led legal effort upheld Maryland's Right-to-Farm law, protecting farmers from nuisance lawsuits. To date, Farm Bureau has invested over $20,000 in legal expenses to this initiative alone.
  • Maryland Farm Bureau protected farmers from a bill proposing new taxes on farm buildings and operations, helping save farmers between $1,167 to $1,751 in new taxes.
  • Farm Bureau stopped a ban on caged-egg production in Maryland - which would have increased poultry production costs by 41% - saving producers an average of $83,890 in additional annual operating expenses.
  • Farm Bureau has helped thousands of members achieve leadership, personal and professional growth while fostering community through programs like the Women's Leadership Program, NextGen Summit, Young Farmers & Ranchers and Maryland Young Farmers Ambassador Program.
  • Maryland Farm Bureau ensures the continuation of wildlife management programs, such as the antlerless deer hunting program, to help save crop farmers an average of $289.59 per acre from crop losses.
  • The Maryland Farm Bureau PAC has invested over $350,000 to elect agriculture-friendly legislators and administrators committed to ensuring the best future for agriculture in Maryland.
  • Farm Bureau provides members access to best in-class farm transition resources and tools, guiding members through retirement and succession planning to protect the legacy of their farm and family's future.
